Thermomass Receives 2011 Global Iowa Export Award

Recipients are selected for their commitment to exporting as a component of their business strategy

Thermomass is proud to announce that it was one of three Iowa companies to earn a 2011 Global Iowa Export Award. The distinction was awarded at the "Go Global - Innovations in Exporting Conference" held in Pella, Iowa. The other companies to earn the award were Ankeny-based Accu-Mold, LLC and Vermeer Corporation of Pella.

The Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) presents yearly awards to recognize companies that are expanding their markets internationally.  Recipients are selected for their commitment to exporting as a component of their business strategy.

"It's a privilege to recognize and celebrate the important contribution exporters make to the Iowa economy," said Debi Durham, director of the Iowa Economic Development Authority.  "By promoting their products and services overseas, these exemplary companies are creating jobs and generating valued revenues for the state."

Thermomass was chosen for the honor based in part on having been specified in over 100 million square feet of building panels in all 50 states and around the world since 1980, as well as having experienced an export growth rate of five percent per year over the last three years.

The one-day conference also featured guest speakers, and the keynote address was presented by Mary Vermeer Andringa, current chair of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), the nation's largest manufacturing association.
